Metabolomic profiling helps protect reef-building coral
University of Florida scientists are using untargeted 1H-NMR to determine how different genotypes of staghorn coral are able to process the nutrients needed to adapt to climate change and grow within warm Caribbean ocean waters. Resilient reefs are featured in the latest issue of the National MagLab’s fields magazine. You can read more about how the profiles of coral metabolites can be used to study growth processes, in this April 2019 issue of Scientific Reports.
